The Truth About Fat Loss Myths
Wouldn't it be great if you could eat as much and as frequently as you want and watch your body fat melt away while you sleep, watch TV, or sit at your desk at work? It is a fantasy come true. Being able to maintain a healthy weight with little or no work is something I'd definitely consider.
What do we see when we turn on the television? Advertisements on television promise you weight loss and fitness results with little effort. Do you want to get rid of that excess fat around your midsection? Simply swallow these tablets. You go into a bookshop and begin browsing through the endless rows of books that promote one diet trend or another. The difficulty is that the vast majority of them provide contradictory information. I'll be blunt in telling you that, rather than separating the fat from your body, the vast majority of these individuals are more interested in separating your money from your wallet than anything else.
I've tried a lot of these diet and exercise fads, and I can assure you that the vast majority of them are completely ineffective. Some diets will work, but they will drive your body to do things that it was not made to do. As a result, your body will believe it is dying and will begin to burn fat as an energy source. Losing weight is not a terrible thing in and of itself, but fooling your body into burning fat by activating a survival mechanism is. What are the long-term consequences of these trendy eating regimens? The sort of restricted lifestyle that these diets impose on you is not something that anybody would like to live. How many people are willing to put in the effort and suffer for something that will be laughed at in 20 years by the fitness community? There has to be a more effective approach.
Even though the genuine approach to fat reduction is so straightforward, no diet book author would ever declare it out loud. The secret is as follows:
You should burn more calories than you consume.
That's all there is to it. There isn't much more to it than that, and you are probably already aware of this! There is no more effective method, no unique fruit from the Amazon, and no gadget that you can employ that will provide greater results than what I have described above.
It is unfortunate that there are many individuals who would want to deceive you about what to eat, how to starve yourself, and what machine to use in order to get the ideal body shape. When you reach for the next diet fad book, strap on an ab exerciser, or pick up the phone to ring a number you saw on an infomercial, remember that these methods have failed in the past and will fail in the future because you are still not burning more calories than you are taking in.
After researching the internet, bookshops, and trying just about every diet I could find in order to lose the additional 30 pounds, I'll tell you what has been successful for me.
Keep a food diary in which you record all of the calories that you consume. Provide specifics. You'll be shocked at how much you can eliminate if you just write everything down. Personally, I was appalled by the quantity of sweets and junk food I was consuming on a daily basis, and I was determined to change that. I didn't completely eradicate them; rather, I reduced their frequency of appearance.
By using this calculator, you can find out how many calories you burn in a day. The majority of your calories are burned just by existing. This is referred to as "basal metabolism." Look for a chart that shows how many calories are expended by different activities depending on your weight class.
Exercise on a regular basis. It takes very little time, perhaps 20 minutes every day, 3-5 days per week. Regular exercise will raise your metabolism, causing your body to burn even more calories while you are not actively engaged in the activity you like.
Being physically fit is a way of life. It does not have to be terribly restricting, nor does it have to be painful to be effective. Over time, maintaining a healthy weight is always simpler than putting yourself through the wringer with restrictive or starvation diets.
This journey to find the right diet and exercise routine took me eight years, and surprisingly enough, the one thing that worked for me turned out to be the simplest and least costly of all of the other things that I tried.
